Lennie Howard Moon

Lennie Howard Moon, age 68, of Union Point, Georgia, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Sparta Health Care. He was born in Greene County on August 30, 1934 to the late Lillian Howard "Tig" Moon and Blanche Ogletree Moon and was a lifelong resident. He was a spreader at Lena Hy, Mary Leila Cotton Mill and Stewart Apparel. He attended the Georgia school for the Deaf where he was a basketball player and was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church in Social Circle, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Frances Moon of Thomaston, GA; a daughter Sara Faye Moon of Union Point, GA; two sons, Ronnie Moon and wife Kimberly of Bostwick, GA and Robert Moon and wife Zina of Milledgeville, GA; three sisters, Patricia M. Adams of Villa Rica, GA, Nita M. Meadows of Union Point, GA and Dean M. Mansfield of Barnwell, SC; two brothers, Fred Moon of Greensboro, GA and Larry Moon of Locust Grove, GA; nine grandchildren, Natasha Clements, Nicky Gabriel, Jessica Moon, Tabby Moon, Caitlin Farlow, Randee Farlow, Adam Osley, Brenda Moon and Clay Moon; and three great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, June 29, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at Greensboro City Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Joey Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Charles Smith, Tommy Moon, Hugh Tanner, Tony Worthen, Kenneth Blount, Curtis Jordan, Mike Moody and Lewis Ellis. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Lennie Moon Memorial Fund, c/o Regions Bank, 1460 Eatonton Road, Madison, GA 30650. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
