James Boocher Obituary

James Michael “Jim” Boocher, of Greensboro, GA, died Tuesday morning, August 18, 2009 while in Casablanca, Morocco on a business trip. Born in St. Joseph County in Southbend, Indiana on November 1, 1955, Jim was the loving son of Patricia Gaffigan Boocher and the late James A. Boocher. He graduated from Jackson High School in Indiana and Ball State University. As President of Kerzner International Development Group, he was a successful businessman who travelled extensively. Jim has been with the company since 1996, when he initially joined to build the Royal Towers of Atlantis, Paradise Island. He has overseen all of the construction and development projects for the company around the world, including locations in The Bahamas, Mexico, Dubai, Maldives, South Africa, Mauritius and most recently Morocco. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed his membership at Reynolds Plantation Golf Club and Emirates Golf Club in Dubai. Prior to moving to Reynolds Plantation in 2005, he had lived in Dubai. Most of all, he enjoyed his family and friends. Jim is survived by his wife, Kimberly Senzig Boocher, along with a daughter, Heather Murphy and husband Michael of Greensboro, GA; four sons, Michael James Boocher of Dubai, Anthony Lloyd Boocher and wife Temotia of Dubai, Jeremy Joseph Boocher of Greensboro, GA and Thomas Christopher Boocher of Greensboro, GA, as well as three grandchildren, Christian Murphy, Connor Murphy and Hunter Boocher. He also leaves his sisters, Patricia Welty of Indiana, Sara Korpak of Georgia and Margaret Papp of North Carolina, brothers, Timothy Boocher of Florida, Sean Boocher of Indiana, Neil boocher of Georgia and Hugh Boocher of The Bahamas, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Tim Boocher, Neal Boocher, Sean Boocher, Hugh Boocher, Mike Murphy and Jim Copensky. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home, Greensboro, GA.
