Howard Stan Pair
Howard Stan Pair of Greensboro, GA, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, GA, at the age of 88. Born in Marietta, GA on January 7, 1929, he was the son of the late John William Pair and Annie Guinn Pair. He Graduated from Fitzhugh Lee High School in Smyrna, GA and on December 20, 1948 he married the former Audrey Wilson. In 1986 while still living in Smyrna, GA, they bought a house in Greene County and became weekenders. He was the owner of Independent Refrigeration Supply and retired in 1997, when they moved to the lake house full time. Stan was a member of Walker United Methodist Church where he was a former trustee. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and also enjoyed road trips, yard work, his iPad and crossword puzzles.
In addition to his wife Audrey Pair of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by a grandson, Rhoby J. Luffman of Cumming, GA; sister, Geraldine Humphries of Buckhead in Atlanta, GA; great granddaughter, Taylor Linda Luffman; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Pair Luffman.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road with Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Burt, Dick Lebby, Ray Caroland, Tom Collier, Richard Woodward and Byron Lombard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Harry Singer, Charlie Chupp and Ralph Beasley. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at Walker United Methodist Church.
