Henrietta Marie Grombik Wierzbicki, age 83, of Greensboro, GA, died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Athens Health and Rehab. She was born on July 10, 1923 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Andrew Grombik and Rose Kush Grombik. Mrs. Wierzbicki grew up in Wheeler, Michigan and graduated from Wheeler High School. She met her husband, Joseph C. Wierzbicki, Sr. in Detroit, Michigan and after WWII, they settled in New Haven, Michigan. Most of her life was spent in New Haven where she was the mother to all the neighborhood kids and a loving friend to all. She worked at New Haven High School until retirement and moved to Palm Harbor, Florida. Then in December of 2002 they moved to Greene County to be close to family. She was a member of Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Wierzbicki, Sr. in 2003; and siblings, Stanley Grombik, Alex Grombik, Anthony Grombik, Jean Grombik, Bernice Dyszel and Clara Skolomiski. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Smith and husband Thomas of Greensboro, GA; three sons, Joseph Wierzbicki Jr. and wife Cathi of Fall Brook, CA, Michael Wierzbicki Sr. and wife Barbara of St. Clair, MI and Thomas Wierzbicki Sr. and wife Cathy of Snohomish, WA; eight grandchildren, Joseph Wierzbicki III, Debbie Thomas and husband James, Michael Wierzbicki Jr. and wife Michelle, Wendy Wierzbicki, Thomas Wierzbicki Jr., Stacey Wierzbicki LaCock and husband Aaron, Sean Smith and Adam Smith; and two great-grandsons, James Thomas Jr. and Anthony LaCock; nieces, Joanne and Janice Szalay of Royal Oak, MI, Judy Auernik of Venetia, PA, Karen Schreifer and husband Ret. Lt. Col. Stephen Schreifer of Destin, FL, Sarah Schreifer and Jill Schreifer; sister-in-law, Sophia Musick and husband Josiah of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and a number of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, September 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church with Father Philip Ryan officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joseph Wierzbicki Sr., Michael Wierzbicki Sr., Michael Wierzbicki Jr., Thomas Wierzbicki Sr., Thomas Smith and Sean Smith. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
