Hazel Foster Obituary

Hazel Lee Faust Foster of Greensboro, GA died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the age of 85 at St. Mary''s Hospice House in Bogart, GA. A native of Versailles, KY she was born on August 9, 1926 to the late Marshall Foley Faust of Jessamine County, KY and Nora Stokley Faust of Woodford County, KY. She graduated from Wilmore High School in Wilmore, KY. She married Walter Coleman Foster on August 20, 1947. Hazel was a homemaker and a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church of Versailles, KY. She had been a resident of Greene County for four and a half years, living at Del Webb. Prior to moving to Greensboro, she lived in Nicholasville, KY. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she will be sorely missed.

In addition to her husband, Walter Coleman Foster, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Carl Brandenburg. Hazel is survived by a son, Ronald C. Foster and wife Johanna of Greensboro, GA; four grandchildren, Lauren Jung (Jared), Kelly Davis (Taylor), Mark Bare (DeAnn) and Randall Bare (Renee''); nine great grandchildren, Madeline Bare, Holden Bare, Samantha Bare, Meghan Jung, Rebecca Jung, Rachel Jung, Jacob Davis, Kate Davis and Jonathan Davis; niece, Peggy Sherman (Peter); and a number of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Chaplain Bill Hayes officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Bare, Randall Bare, Jared Jung, Taylor Davis, Peter Sherman and Michael Sherman. James Walton will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2089 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY 40504 on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 1:00 p. m. The family requests that any memorials be made in memory of Hazel Faust Foster to St. Mary''s Good Samaritan Hospital, c/o St. Mary''s Foundation, 1230 Baxter Street, Athens, GA 30606.
