Gary Allen Obituary

Gary Clyde Allen, age 59, of Union Point, GA, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born January 5, 1945 to the late Jim Clyde Allen and Alice Echols Allen. He was supervisor in the Boarding Department at Chipman Union where he worked for over 40 years. He attended Union Point schools and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Union Point. A  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Juanita Chandler "Nita" Allen of Union Point; three daughters, Laura A. Moody and husband Donald of Union Point, GA, Pam A. Vaughn and husband Brian of Union Point, GA and Michelle A. Brooks and husband Mark of Union Point, GA; a son, "Little" Gary Allen and wife Lowella of Union Point, GA; three sisters, Barbara Roberts of Eatonton, GA, Anne Smith of Lexington, GA and Donna Callaway of Union Point, GA; a brother, J. T. Allen of Union Point, GA; ten grandchildren Brad Vaughn, Justin Vaughn, Josh Brooks, Ryan Moody, Jonathan Moody, Joey Allen, Tiffany Allen, Matthew Brooks, Andrew Allen and Britney Allen; an aunt, Rachel O''Sheal of Athens, GA; an uncle, Lloyd Echols of Carters Grove, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Johnny Barrett, Rev. Jim Olds and Rev. Ralph Kitchens officiating. Interment will follow at Bairds Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Donald Allen, Dennis Allen, Mike Brooks, Tim Branyan, Eric Lowe and Clayton Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Vaughn, Justin Vaughn, Josh Brooks, Ryan Moody, Jonathan Moody, Matthew Brooks, Billy Branyan, L. G. "Rooster" Boswell and Bobby Swann.
