Flora (Grimes) Swann

Flora G. Swann, age 79, of Crawfordville, GA died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at PruittHealth  in Washington, GA.  Born in Oglethrope County on July 3, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Mike Grimes and Beatrice Lucas Grimes. She graduated from Oglethorpe County High School.  She married Charles Irvin Swann and spent the rest of her life in Taliaferro County.  For 18 years she worked for Taliaferro County Family and Children Services, and for numerous years at Palmer Equipment and Wood Speciality.  She was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for many years and taught Sunday School for several years.

She was preceded n death by her husband Irvin Swann in 2010.  She is survived by: son, Randy Swann (wife, Vicki), daughter, Ann Clemmons; grand children: Alicia Clemmons Smith, (Michael Smith) Allison Clemmons Bradford (Racy Bradford), Cara Swann George (Carl George), Justin Swann (Becky Swann); great grand children: Dylan and Reese Smith, Michael Bradford, Jemma and Gracelynn George; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery, 5479 Greensboro Road, Washington, GA 30673 with Rev. David Bridwell  officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday night, May 4, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mrs. Swann’s home at 201 Lyneville Rd, Crawfordville GA 30631.
