Esther Amerson Rainwater, 81, of Greensboro, Georgia died Friday, October 17, 2003 at her residence. She was born July 25, 1922 in Jefferson County to the late Clinton Edell Amerson and Annie Laura Daniels Amerson. She attended Jefferson County Schools. She was an inspector at J. P. Stephens Plant and an assembler at McGall Laboratories in Milledgeville. Since 1986, she had lived in Greensboro where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Golden Tones Choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren Morris Rainwater. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Ann Rainwater of Greensboro, GA and Myra Lynn Jones of Greensboro, GA; one son, James Simpson Rainwater and wife Jacquelyn of Birmingham, AL; a sister, Margaret Marchman and husband Ray of Greensboro, GA; and two grandchildren, Lisa Chaves and Charles Jones.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Jimmy A. Long and Rev. Sam Orr officiating. Interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Lovin, Darryl Marchman, Andy Marchman, Dan Marchman, Charles Jones, J. D. Chaves and Charles Marchman. The family requests that any memorials be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 455 Abernathy Road, NE, Suite 210, Atlanta, GA 30328 or the American Diabetes Association Three Corporate Square, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30329.
