Edwin Gaillard Adams, Jr

Edwin Gaillard “Gilly” Adams, Jr., age 64, of Greensboro, GA, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Greene Point Health Care in Union Point. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born on September 13, 1944, the son of the late Edwin Gaillard Adams, Sr. and Elisabeth Hobbs Adams. He graduated from Greensboro High School in 1964 and helped his family with their poultry farm. Until he had health problems Gilly lived in Greensboro, but had been a resident of Greene Point Health Care in Union Point since 2003. Gilly loved to crochet, collect antique clocks, talk to his friends by telephone and visit local businesses. He enjoyed a happy and full life and was a friend to everybody. Gilly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, where he enjoyed sounding the buzzer for Sunday School to end. He is survived by a sister, Pet Williams and husband Wayne of Crawfordville, GA; a brother, William E. “Bill” Adams of Greensboro, GA; nieces and nephews, Lanis Adams, Mary Adams, Elisabeth Reddick and husband Daniel and Ginny Hudson; great nephew, Mason Reddick and great niece, Abby Reddick; and a number of other relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Greensboro City Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Martha Mercure officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home. Any memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church, 203 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642.
