Carolyn Anne Speck “Cookie” Green
Carolyn Anne Speck “Cookie” Green, age 65, of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Cookie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1949, one of four children of the late Paul James Speck and Alma Marie Drexler Speck. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Pittsburgh in the class of 1967 and attended Edinboro College, studying art. After raising her daughters, she continued her education at Florida Atlantic University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration in 1997. On July 1, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, W. Scott Green, Jr. She worked for UHaul in Lansing, Michigan, Laurie Love Creates in Dunedin, Florida and ENT Associates in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Cookie was a gifted artist, a creator of joy and the light of her family’s world - The Queen. She was an inspiration to all on how to live a life with love, laughter, and the Lord.
Scott and Cookie lived on the Gulf of Mexico in Clearwater, Florida before retiring to their home on Lake Sinclair where Cookie renovated it to become her dream home. She was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro.
In addition to her husband of forty-five years, W. Scott Green, Jr., of Eatonton, Georgia, she is survived by two daughters, Robin Green McCallum of Santa Monica, California, and Lani Green House of Decatur, Georgia; five grandchildren, Katarzyna Ana Lara Krzyzanowski (16), Olivia Jane House (11), Caden Atticus Croft McCallum (9), Alma Francesca House (8) and Harper Amanda Jean McCallum (7); siblings, Marilyn Speck Hrach of Roswell, Georgia, Paul J. Speck, Jr. of Austin, Texas and Deborah Speck Hurlbert of Kingwood, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Roberto Herrera officiating. A reception will follow in the Sacred Heart Social Hall. The family requests that any memorials be made to St. Vincent de Paul Conference, c/o Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642.
