Betty Jo Evans Obituary

Betty Jo Williams Webb Evans of Greensboro passed away at High Shoals Health and Rehab facility on September 4, 2016 after an extended illness at the age of 80.

She was born in Greensboro, GA on July 13, 1936 to Reba L. Boswell and Charlie N. Williams.  She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1954 and attended Berry College in Rome, GA her Junior year in high school.  She was very active in her community including serving as a Greene County Commissioner, member of the Greensboro Garden Club, elected an Elder of the Greensboro First Presbyterian Church and was the first female civilian flight student to solo in Greene County.

She is survived by her two sons, LTC (Ret) Charles Michael Webb of Park City, UT and Stacy Joe Webb (Anne Marie) of Watkinsville, GA.  She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Ben, Brandon, Joshua, Rebecca, Jacob and Taylor and one great grandchild, Paislee Rae.  She is survived by her brother Bill Corry and sister Ann Boswell and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Reba and Charlie Williams and two brothers, James Corry and Charles Williams.

A memorial service will be held at Greensboro First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 3 pm.  Reception to follow memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, please donate, in the giving spirit of Betty Jo, to your favorite charity.
