Alice Wolf Obituary

Alice Smith Wolf, 89, of Griffin, GA, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her daughter''s home in Griffin. Born on April 4, 1920, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of the late John James Smith and Fannie Lanier. She went to school in Hancock County and Sandersville before attending Berry College. There she met and married her husband Daniel C. Wolf. She finished her degree in Elementary Education at Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, and from 1954 until 1961 she taught elementary school in Greene County. After moving to Florida, she taught for fourteen years in Gadsden County. Mrs. Wolf was an active member of Carver Road Baptist Church in Griffin, GA.

Mrs. Wolf was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. Wolf in 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Hardwick and husband Cab of Griffin, GA, and Judy Peckinpaugh and husband Carl of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren: Cabbot and wife Karin, Beth and husband Armando, Catherine and husband Brian, and Amy; and five great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Bryan Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends at the Liberty United Methodist Church from 1:15 pm until time for the graveside service. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Building Fund of Carver Road Baptist Church, 334 Carver Road, Griffin, GA 30224. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
