We are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Don ‘Paul’ Hinspeter, age 57, of Greensboro, GA on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his home on Lake Oconee. The loving husband of Kathryn, and father of Clayton and Autumn, he will be forever loved and cherished in their hearts.
Paul was born at Fort Meade, Maryland on October 12, 1955 and was the son of the late Mary Lou and Don Hinspeter. His father was in the Army and took Paul to Germany where he spent his first two years. Upon returning to the States, they settled on the family farm in Frankfort, Illinois which Paul grew to love dearly. He attended the Hinspeter School for six years which was a one-room schoolhouse near their farm. He spent his youth enjoying ‘farm life’, participating in 4H activities, teaching Sunday School, and playing softball where he was counted on for his long distance hitting. Paul graduated from Lincoln Way High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University.
He started a career in Atlanta in the Plastics and Extrusion industry in sales. He was employed with Pactiv as Vice President of Sales where he was well-known industry-wide for his work ethic, integrity and ability. This was recognized by the numerous awards he received for his accomplishments within this field.
He met Mary Kathryn Edwards who he referred to as the ‘love of my life’ and they were married on October 4, 1998 on St. Simons Island, Georgia at Lovely Lane Chapel. Their married life began in Allentown, Pennsylvania where they lived for four years before moving to Lake Oconee where he enjoyed maintaining his ‘perfect’ landscape, riding four wheelers with Clayton, fishing with Autumn, and boating with family and friends on the lake. He also loved to hike the Georgia mountains. He supported his favorite baseball teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Cubs, and cheered on ‘the Bears’. Paul was a member of the First United Methodist Church South Campus of Greensboro.
In addition to his wife, Kathryn of Greensboro, GA, survivors include his children Clayton Paul and Autumn Kathryn; siblings, Tom Hinspeter (Carol) and Cindy H. Wiewiora (Fred); and his beloved dogs, Rembrandt and T.C. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Hinspeter.
