Margaret West Chapman, age 100, of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Crawfordville, GA died on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Kentwood in Augusta, GA. Mrs. Chapman was born in Wilkes County on June 26, 1911 the daughter of the late George C. West and Margaret Blount West. She graduated from Alexander Stephens Institute in May of 1929. She married Earl C. Chapman and they made their home in Crawfordville, GA. She was a homemaker and a member of Crawfordville Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Chapman enjoyed cooking and flower arranging. She made many arrangements for Crawfordville Baptist Church when she was an active member.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Chapman in January of 1975. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Marilyn Braddy of Belvedere, SC, Linda Schaffer of Belvedere, SC, Sid Randall of North Augusta, SC, Roger West of Greensboro, GA, Shirley Gentry of Athens, GA, Carolyn House of Sharon, GA and Peggy King of Augusta, GA; sister-in-law, Bess Chapman of Macon, GA; and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Roger West, Agnes King, Henrietta English and Allene Randall.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA 30669 with Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
